He turned, and what he saw was a Lamb. That is Revelation 5, and it has never stopped undoing me — the strongest thing in heaven walks in as the gentlest.
We painted it the other way around. A lamb at the edge of a still pool. And the face looking back up out of the water is the Lion of Judah.
We argued about whether anyone would catch it. Some people will walk past and see a lamb in the woods, nothing more. We decided that was the right risk to take. The ones who notice tend to stand there a while.
It is the gentlest thing our studio has made. It usually ends up on the wall the morning light finds first.

Soldier and the cross
